Friday I took the day off work. Being at Urgent Care late, not sleeping well, and already scheduled to leave work early for a dentist appointment made more sense to just stay home and rest. I skipped the pool and just relaxed until it was time to go to the dentist (yuck).
When I got home, Michael made dinner. I couldn’t really help much with my stupid thumb. He baked salmon in the oven. This time he just sprinkled salt and pepper and olive oil on it.
I suggested we use some of the fresh herbs I bought for last weekend’s Beef Burgundy. Michael used the fresh Thyme.
While it baked (wrapped in foil), he cooked the Spinach ravioli.
The salmon was ready and it smelled wonderful from the fresh herbs.
I think the combination of the salmon and the spinach and cheese ravioli was delicious!
We started watching The Event since we were caught up on our regular shows. I’m now sure how I like it yet. I’m mildly curious but at the same time I’m comparing it to Lost every step of the way. We’re two episodes in…not sure yet if I’ll make it the whole season.
QUESTION: What do you think about The Event?
Saturday
I slept in a bit and then ate a quickie pre-workout breakfast: a banana with peanut butter and unsweetened iced tea.
Then I headed to the gym. I was a little worried that my abilities would be limited because of my stupid thumb! I was also worried that exercising my open it up again and make it bleed. I took it easy to start with. All the treadmills were taken so I decided to start with weight lifting. I did my circuit and had no discomfort with my thumb, so I was in the clear!
I did my usual routine but focused a little more on my shoulders/triceps today. After one turn around the weight room, I decided to see if the treadmills had opened up.
I jogged for 1.5 miles and had no issues until I was almost done. At 1.43 miles in, my knee started to bug me. It wasn’t pain but I wasn’t sure what it was. I slowed to a walk for a few seconds and then finished the jog.
I went back to the weight room and finished my weight-lifting. I did a few lower-body machines but I focused on the upper body.
I’m taking it easy with the lower body weights–using very light weights and doing them very slowly. I need to listen to my body and make sure I don’t push it (which I tend to do). After my weight training I did some work with the medicine ball, but not much. This time, I focused on my physical therapy to strengthen my hips.

I feel MUCH better after working out and finally showering. My thumb is feeling better, no longer throbbing, and I have just a regular band-aid on it. Thank you guys for all the well wishes and concern! I feel much better now. And I also want to take a moment to gush a little about my boyfriend. I promise to keep it to a minumum. 😉
Michael is amazing and I’m so glad he was there Thursday night to catch me (and prevent me from hitting my head). He said the SWEETEST thing the other night. He said “I’ll always catch you when you fall.” Awwwwww. My hero. 🙂
XOXOXOX
Hope you guys have a good weekend! Get extra rest for Daylight Savings tomorrow.

That’s the way my mom taught me to fix salmon. only do that and put some veggies in the foil to steam, like zuchinni. Is really yummy.
Yay for less thumb drama!
