Halloween has come and gone now. So how did I do? Candy is my weakness. It’s really, really hard for me to pass up a treat like that (especially Butterfingers).
I indulged more this weekend than I normally would, but I don’t think I went too crazy.
4 pieces of the “fun size” candies are considered a serving. Between Saturday and Sunday I probably ate 12-15 pieces of said candy. Even though I was indulging in the treats, I was always aware of how many I was eating so I didn’t just mindlessly munch all night.
If I had to give myself a grade, I’d say it would be a B-. I probably could have made better choices with my food in general this weekend (not just the candy). But one weekend of indulging is not the end of the world.
The important thing to remind myself: the day after is a new day. Time to get back on track!
Monday was an icky, stormy, rainy, windy day in Portland. It felt like a soup night. Plus Michael wasn’t feeling great and just wanted chicken noodle soup.
I made Lipton’s Noodle Soup and cut some sourdough bread.
The soup was nothing special, but it was the perfect thing for a fast dinner.
I made myself a salad to go along with dinner.
If you missed it yesterday, Rita over at Fitblogger featured me! She did a great job writing about my story and my blog. (Thanks again Rita!)
Yesterday I also got a nice surprise. The photographer who took my pictures for the magazine shoot emailed me the outtakes.
It pretty much made my day seeing the photos he took! If you’re looking for a fantastic (and nice) photographer, check out his website. He gave me permission to use them any way I wanted and I think I might get some prints made for my family.
Note: Michael updated my website header last night. He did a fantastic job! I added some new photos. If you normally read this in Google Reader, check it out!
UPDATE: Check out Carbzilla’s review of Portland here!
QUESTION: What’s your report card for Halloween weekend? How are you getting back on track?

Love the new header and the professional pics – you look gorgeous!
I get an A+ for candy – not one piece!
Although I did have pizza Friday night and a whole can of spaghettio’s to myself on Saturday – I think I may be the only 42 year old Mom who still eats them on occassion! 😀

Thanks!
Good for you! Not eating ANY candy!

GORGEOUS photos ! you look great – and so does your new header! 😀

Thank you Kristina! I love them!

Those photos are fantastic and that’s a GREAT color on you!
I’d say a B- is very good for your biggest weakness (mine is cookies). My jaw hurts from eating Tootsie Rolls, and I’m kinda disappointed I didn’t get ONE Reese’s peanut butter cup.
Yep, getting back on track is key especially since Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner! Yikes!

LOVE the new photo of you in the upper lefthand corner of your site! Adorable!!
As for halloween, I get a C. The only good thing I did was only eat candy on Sunday itself rather than all weekend/all month, and I even brought it into work yesterday so it wouldn’t still be at home. That said, I ate more candy than I can even begin thinking about. My boyfriend picked up a huge bag of hershey minis and then a mixed candy back with nerds, taffy, sweet tarts, and other sweet treats. I ate my weight in laffy taffy, enough said. 🙂

Thanks!
I was being generous with my B-…it’s probably closer to a C! At least I stuck with my favorites (Butterfingers) instead of eating everything like I sometimes did!

Seriously AMAZING header and photos!
I’ve made that Lipton chicken noodle soup before and spiced it up by throwing in some random veggies. My favorite addition was some left-over frozen peas & carrots. It gave the soup a little something extra and a dash of seasoning made it stand out more than just what came in the boy. Enjoy!

Those photos are gorgeous! You definitely need to get some prints done.
I would give myself a C or worse for the holiday weekend. I had a few more Reese’s Peanut Butter cups than I would like to admit! However, I am back on track this week and looking forward to some good runs!

Those pictures are gorgeous! Lucky you to get the proofs 😀
I didn’t have any Halloween candy because we didn’t have candy, just pretzels. However, I did manage to snack on other things. Sunday was not the best day for me.

You look great! I think you look happier and more glowy too.
I ate a bunch of candy over the weekend too, but luckily we got bombarded by trick or treaters and hardly had any left over.
Lisa Eirene
LUCKY! Come take my Halloween candy. 🙂
