I like signing up for a race on the holiday – like a Turkey Trot on thanksgiving. that way I get exercise in the day of the big feast and feel way less guilty about indulging!

That’s a good plan! I will be in the gym Thanksgiving morning!

I guess my strategy (although I still have a month or so to figure it out!) is to think every mouthful through. I’m trying not to mindlessly eat, but really treat myself to thinks that I love. I don’t have a sweet tooth, so I’m planning to avoid the chocolate boxes and selections of desserts, but enjoy the really good joint of beef we usually get. I guess it’s the French Women Don’t Get Fat approach!

A good long walk with the dogs is an essential part of our Christmas day. We’re not allowed to open any presents until we’ve done that.

I signed up this morning for a 5 mile turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning! And I will not allow guilt to make me feel bad at all on that day. 🙂

That’s fantastic! Good for you. I hope next year I can do a Turkey Trot.
