A few days ago I posted about the new waffle maker I received from CSN Stores to review. I was so excited! Well Saturday morning before I went to the gym Michael and I gave it a test drive.
Right off the bat, there was one flaw that we saw. It’s electric and needs to be plugged in but the clock requires a battery. That seemed strange.
It was pretty small and compact, so that’s a plus. It also can be put in the cupboard standing up. That takes up less space too. We used the boxed waffle mix I got at the store last week.
Michael brushed oil on the waffle maker grill.
We were skeptical at first. We weren’t sure how much of the batter to use. So Michael just kind of poured it in slowly to see how it evened out.
Then we closed the waffle maker and the directions said to flip it over immediately. Again that seemed strange–like the liquid would just slop around. But it worked.
The instructions said to cook it for almost 5 minutes.
I was skeptical that they needed to be cooked for 5 minutes. About half way through I suggested we check on it. The waffle looked done.
One corner was a bit overdone but the rest of it was perfectly done.
A little butter and some sugar free syrup.
It was good! Fantastic waffles. Michael had one too, with some bacon:
-Excellent design. I like that it can stand up in the cabinet.
-Affordable. I don’t feel like I wasted my money.
-Mostly even cooking. It’s hard to tell since it was our first time.
-Fast, easy to use.
-Waffles were delicious and thick. And filling! I was stuffed!
-I wish the waffle plates were removable so they were easier to clean.
Thanks again to CSN Stores for offering the opportunity to review an item!

QUESTION: Have you ever made your own waffles? What’s your favorite topping?

YUM !
Jason got me a waffle maker that flips – similar to this one – and I LOVE it! It depends on my mood, sometimes I like butter + maple syrup, sometimes I top my waffles with yogurt and fruit.

Your waffle maker skepticism made me laugh because that’d be soooo me until I saw the finished waffle. You are too funny!

You know..I’ve never made my own waffles…but I think I’d like to give it a try. I like eating them that’s for sure. 😉

Holy Wafflelicious!! I have not had a waffle for more than 2 years and those photos with the melted butter and syrup are making my mouth water! Enjoying one is now on the immediate to do list.

I craved waffles for almost a year before I finally got one! So worth it!

I *love* waffles! I use the protein pancake mix and it is just perfect for 1 batch of waffles (which is convenient).
Favorite topping is blueberry sauce.
