For Michael’s birthday last year, I surprised him with a road trip out to the Hood River area for a hike.
We had a wonderful time hiking! The weather was perfect.
We had a picnic lunch after the hike, overlooking the Gorge.
He was absolutely surprised and it was a wonderful outing! After the picnic, we spent the day in Hood River wine tasting! He had never been wine tasting before and Hood River has a TON of wineries! That excursion was the beginning of our love affair of wine tasting!
This year for his birthday I threw a surprise pizza party for him with all his friends!
And just for the two of us, we went to Frattelli’s Ristorante http://www.fratellicucina.com/ for Happy Hour.
We ordered drinks at Fratelli’s. Michael got a beer and I got a Vodka Tonic (very diet friendly drink). Then we ordered the mini pizza from the Happy Hour menu.
We got the Margherita with Prociutto. YUM!
It was good!! But hardly filling. We each had 3 pieces of the mini pizza and nothing else on the menu appealed to us. So we headed next door to OBA!
I got another vodka tonic and Michael got a Hefeweizen beer. We order the fish tacos, which were absolutely AMAZING! They were smokey and delicious.
And of course, some chips and queso (also amazing):

You are adorable! Both of you!!! I also saw you comment on my blog about my long legs…haha…I answered you but I don’t know if you go back and check. I am 5″6 1/2 but I am all legs. My brother is almost 5′10″ and our legs are the same length! haha! He has a long torso and I have the long legs. No complaints though…I like having long legs even if my torso is short!

@Kelly…thanks!! You are lucky to be that tall! I’m average–about 5’5 but I’m all torso with VERY short legs. Boo!
