I spent a few days up in Seattle helping my parents pack and load a truck to move stuff down to their new house. It was a LOT of work. Many trips to goodwill. Lots of boxes. 12k steps one day, 14k steps the next day, 12k steps the third day. Thankfully we hired someone to help us unload the truck in Portland and that helped a lot. I found some treasures at my mom’s house, of course! Check out this newspaper from Mount St. Helens erupting!! She had a few different ones. It was pretty cool. I saved those. 😀
It wasn’t all work, though. A friend invited us over for tea for lunch and it was a really nice break from all the work. I think we were starting to get crabby and tired and needed a break. The tea was delicious! She used to have tea parties when I was a kid and I always loved them.
We also went to a nice dinner one night. Arnie’s in downtown Edmonds is right on the water and has a lovely view of Puget Sound. It’s also right by the Ferry. It was relaxing and lovely. I got a salad with this delicious basil vinagrette dressing. The main course was salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Holy cow was it delicious!!
Dessert was key lime pie. I saved about half of my dinner for dinner the next night, which worked out perfectly because we were all too tired to cook something else.
I always loved Edmonds. The beach is beautiful, I loved the ferries, and the water. I am going to miss going up there to visit my parents. It’s weird that they are moving but it will also be nice having them close and the kids are SUPER excited about it.
We got a ton of stuff done. I’m tired and ready for a vacation!!
