It’s weird to have two kids and experience the ages so differently. Logan was such a chill baby and Zoey was not so chill. He was a great sleeper (wish we’d realized that at the time) and Zoey struggled. Thankfully, she figured it out and sleeps through the night now. But it was rough there for that first year.
When Logan was 2 he was obsessed with cars and The Lion King. Zoey LOVES Bluey!! She is obsessed and absolutely loves the theme song. So we had a Bluey birthday!
She seemed a little unsure of what was happening. But loved cake. Loved getting all the Bluey toys and clothes! We had family over and one of her little friends!
Zoey at 2: she is fiercely independant but at the same time very emotional and wants mommy and daddy. It’s an interesting swing back and forth. She absolutely adores her big brother and wants to play with him, wrestle with him, copy him. Logan is so good with her (even though he does get annoyed sometimes too). But he tries so hard to teach her stuff and play with her. It’s pretty cute.
We recently went on a family hike and she wanted to walk all by herself. Like I said, independant! She did 1 mile!
She loves her baby dolls. She plays “baby”, which is pretty cute. She covers her babies with a blanket and pats their back and says night night. It will be interesting to see if she likes Barbie when she’s older (I loved Barbie as a kid!).
She’s talking up a storm and starting to put short sentences together. Like she said “I want to walk”. She knows what she wants (and I think the terrible twos are starting!).
We’ve been trying to ween her off the bottle at bedtime for awhile now but we’ve been admittedly dragging our feet. We are both feeling a little sad that this is the last baby and she’s growing up…so we kind of cherish the bedtime routine a little.
It’s been funny to watch her grow and change and become a little person. Her favorite things, besides Bluey, are: puppies, Stevie the cat, her pretend phone (lord help us), her waterbottle (she’s already basic lol), yogurt, baby shark (Kill me!!) and just being an adorable menace!
Happy 2nd birthday to my big girl!

That came fast! For just a second I thought it was her first birthday.
I have three kids, each/all four years apart. So I also saw them separately/clearly in stages/development.
I had calm boy first, followed by a wild girl. But she was a very good sleeper. If she stopped moving, she was out.
Loved the birthday photos.

Happy Birthday Zoey!! She’s adorable! And my daughter Princess sounds similar in temperament – poor sleeper, picky eater, independent yet needy, girly-girl/tomboy mix. I always said if she’d been my first, she would have been my last! LOL Now, she’s 28 and I treasure her so much – her independence and strong-mindedness has served her pretty well and it’s been a treat to watch her grow into a fabulous adult.
Meanwhile, Logan looks so handsome – what a sharp fellow he is! Zoey is lucky to have him as a big brother for sure. They do grow up so dang fast – enjoy!

Thank you so much! That is so sweet of you! And I agree with your assessment. Michael and I both know that Zoey’s temperment will serve her well in the future. But boy is it challenging in a toddler lol!!!
