Is it just me, or does it feel like it went from Halloween to Thanksgiving to the Christmas season in a blink of an eye? It went so fast this year.
I am so grateful that we got a fake tree a few years ago. I think it was when I was pregnant with Zoey and decided I did not want to clean up the mess, crawl under the tree to water it or deal with any of the issues of a live one. It’s three pieces and you just plug it in!
One of Zoey’s first words was “puppy”, which is funny because one of Logan’s first words was “Dog.” We decorated the tree last week and Zoey loved it! She was so excited! She especially loved the fox ornament she calls a puppy. 😉
This year we hosted my family Christmas party. It’s been a few years since we had it and I was glad we could do it again! There were about 30 of us (!!) and people traveled from Colorado, parts of Oregon and all over Washington.
Michael smoked pastrami, a cousin brought homemade tamales, there was SO much food! Another cousin made our Grandma’s coffeecake.
It was so much fun and so good to see everyone! And we did a white elephant exchange and that, of course, was crazy and hilarious. This was the first time Logan got to participate in something like that and he was very excited. He ended up “stealing” a table air hockey game.
After the party, my parents hung out at the house and some of us cousins went to a neighborhood bar to hang out for a bit. 🙂
And then the next day I got to look through some old photos one of my aunts brought! Zoey looks like me in these photos:
It’s so funny because when I look at Zoey I don’t think she looks like me very much. But definitely in these photos. And check out this photo:
So funny! Anyways, it was a whirlwind weekend. Sunday I could tell I was going into a flare but it was worth it because the party was great and it was so nice to see people and celebrate. I am starting to get into the holiday spirit now!

She is growing fast! A baby no more!
The gate cracked me up. We have similar style for puppies.
We have used them inside to keep puppies away from things. And outside to contain them when we were potty training.

She is actually doing pretty well with the tree and we probably don’t need the gate. 😉
