Hello! It’s been awhile.
First, I managed to sprain my toe. Because of my hip issues I don’t have great mobility on the right side. It’s pretty stiff and rigid. So I was wearing sandals and moved in a jilted way and stubbed my toe. I definitely though it was broken. It took 3 days for the radiologist to read my X-rays and determine it was a sprain. A sprained toe HURTS. I was surprised at how much it hurt. I was in a boot for 2 weeks. I had to stop wearing it because it was hurting my back. So I am trying to take it easy. I really hope the toe heals asap because the cortisone shot in my hip has helped a lot and I want to try hiking!
Second, Logan started 1st grade! It’s kind of crazy to me how old he’s getting!
Third, Zoey is crawling (and she’s FAST) and sort of standing up on her own. She’s 6.5 months old and such a little firecracker.
Fourth, Michael and I went to the NIN concert at Edgefield. It was a fantastic show!! I highly recommend seeing a concert there. It was such a cool venue. It was outside on the grassy area at Edgefield and it sounded great. It had been years (maybe 8??) since we saw NIN and they still sounded awesome. My parents babysat the kids so we could have a day off. Unfortunately the hotel was sold out so we couldn’t stay overnight. š Next time! But we did get there really early and relaxed, had some drinks, got dinner and then met up with friends for the show.
Fifth, I am back to baking bread!
Over the weekend I took the kiddos to the park early in the morning because the air quality was “moderate” and I knew it would be getting worse. I think it was around 65 AQ and got up to almost 140 on Saturday. I am glad the skies are looking a little better today and it rained last night!
Recent air quality aside, we were able to get outside and do some fun stuff the last few weekends before fall arrives!
Happy September!

So hard to believe Logan is going off to 1st grade! Amazing how time flies. And Zoey is mobile now – kids do keep you on your toes, don’t they. We were very grateful for some bit of rain last night to try and clear out the nasty smoky air. I feel so badly for those who have had to evacuate up off of Steven’s Pass. Counting my blessings and praying for some more rain (words that don’t come out of my mouth very often, I assure you…)

I am actually enjoying the cooler, gray weather! It’s a nice change from 90 degrees!
