I had a great weekend! (Despite my injury and pain.)
My brother and his wife came to visit from California! We hadn’t all seen each other in person since our trip to Hawaii about 1 month before covid hit.
They arrived Friday afternoon and stayed with us until Sunday evening. My parents came down to visit, too. Friday night we got pizza for dinner.
Usually we’d go for a hike or do something fun. But since I’m injured we did little walks in the neighborhood this weekend instead. And my brother and his wife went for a few runs. 🙂
Saturday afternoon we went to our aunt’s house for a BBQ. It was to celebrate my cousin’s wedding last year. They got married in a small ceremony and then threw a party for the rest of the family. 🙂 They live next to a golf course at one point a drink cart came by and it was like the ice cream truck but for adults. LOL
It was so nice to see everyone. My uncle and cousin roasted a lamb and salmon.
Also, my cousin surprised everyone at the party when she announced she was pregnant! I am so excited for more little cousin babies! Zoey will have a cousin her age!
Logan had SO much fun with his cousin who is a little over a year younger than him.
My cousin and her husband decided to do a gender reveal at the end of the party and he hit a golf ball that exploded—BLUE! A boy!
It was such a good party. It was so nice to see everyone. The last time we were all together was for my grandma’s funeral last year and I was pregnant but hadn’t told anyone yet. This time, Zoey was with us.
Sunday was a lazy day. We hung out outside a lot, we went to the park and just relaxed while Logan played. We played a board game and then the boys played some video games.
Dinner was sushi:
And then they left. It was such a perfect visit and we had a great time catching up. They hadn’t seen our new house yet, either, so that was nice. We have plans to visit them in January and I’m already counting down the days (so is Logan). It will be a good trip since the flight isn’t super long and should be easier than Hawaii!

Sounds delightful but I’m so sorry you’re still in pain!
The plane trip to Ca will b so much easier than Hawaii!

I think so too!

So fun to see the kids with their aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. And what a nice slice of normal to be able to get together in person for a change! Unfortunately, Covid finally caught up with me. Consequently, I’ll be missing a friend’s wedding this weekend that had been postponed 2 years due to Covid – the irony 🙁

I agree! It was so nice! I really want Logan to have cousins growing up. It’s such a special thing.
I am so sorry to hear about your covid!! Isn’t it a bummer that it happened at such a bad time too. I hope it’s really mild for you and you can get back to life quickly.
