We had a very nice and pretty quiet holiday. My parents came down from Seattle the 23rd and spent a few days with us. Logan loved it! We relaxed, watched movies, didn’t do a ton of stuff. I made a few loafs of sourdough bread to give as gifts.
Christmas Eve
For Christmas Eve we had friends over for dinner. It was just the 6 of us and it was nice and quiet. 🙂 Michael and I made “chinese food”–basically I bought a bunch of stuff from Trader Joe’s and it actually turned out really really good! We made their fried rice, kung pao chicken, gyoza dumplings. I also made some tempura shrimp and a salad. My mom brought down Chinese pork. There was a lot of food and I was happy it turned out so well! Everyone was really impressed and will be buying the Trader Joe’s Chinese food we got. 😉
My friend made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, delicious, and we opened some presents. They gave Logan a SUPER fun game! This is the game they got Logan. It’s fairly simple and a lot of fun and we played it a ton of times. It’s a huge hit! I definitely recommend it!
I got my parents hooked on The Morning Show. 🙂
After Logan went to bed Santa came. 🙂
Christmas
Logan was so cute. We told him he had to wait until his normal get-up time (6:30) on Christmas Morning. At 6:15 I checked the baby monitor and he was patiently sitting on the edge of his bed staring at the clock waiting for 6:30. LOL! So we got him up early and went downstairs to see the presents!
Christmas was a blur and he was so excited! Logan got his very first video game (Paw Patrol).
For breakfast I made this breakfast casserole (the night before). It was very good and I would make it again, however, the instructions were not correct. If you want to make it, I would bake it for 45 minutes covered in foil, and then another 15-20 minutes without the foil.
After a lazy morning, my parents headed home. It was so nice to spend some time with them! Then we went to Michael’s mom’s house for round two.
We had a late lunch of Mexican food (yum) and opened presents.
Then we headed home to beat the coming snow. All weekend they’d been talking about a big snowstorm coming on Christmas but it ended up being a fairly small amount of snow the day AFTER Christmas. Oh well! Logan enjoyed playing in the snow on Sunday morning!
Even though we didn’t get together with big groups of people, I am still nervous about the new covid wave–so now we wait and see if anyone got exposed! Crossing our fingers it will be ok.
Merry Christmas!
