We went up to Mount Hood for the weekend and stayed in a rustic cabin in the woods.
It was pretty big for a cabin. It had a living room with tons of retro records, some DVDs, board games. The cabin was secluded, surrounded by trees. There was an outdoor area and a hot tub. It was so quiet!
We arrived Friday late afternoon and unpacked and Michael picked up a really yummy pizza from a place down the street. It was called Al Forno Ferruzza. Definitely recommend! We got half cheese and half with pepperoni, garlic, arugula and ricotta cheese. So good!
The first night there was rough. Logan didn’t want to sleep in the room by himself. Then I tried to sleep with him and he didn’t like that either. After a long battle he finally decided he wanted to sleep on the couch. So I got his bed. 😛 And unfortunately, he was up very early Saturday morning! Traveling with little kids is never easy.
Saturday we got up (early) and grumpily had breakfast and then went up to the mountain for our first hike of the day. The first one was one we’ve done before. It was at the Frog Lake Sno-Park. It’s part of the Pacific Crest Trail and there are a few trails you can do at the parking lot.
It was a nice hike and perfect weather! Then we went back to the cabin for lunch and naps. It was nice!! After that we decided to go for another outing. We tried to go to Timberline but there was stopped traffic about 2 miles from the top so we bailed.
Instead we did another hike we’ve done before, but it’s nice and scenic and a good one for Logan:
It was a short hike but perfect for us. After that we picked up takeout BBQ from a nearby restaurant, and hot tub time!!
We were allllll tired. Bedtime was much easier. 🙂

What site did you use to reserve the cabin? I’ve been wanting to do some Mt Hood exploring as well but didn’t even think about reserving something up on the mountain.
