Friday I was off work and decided to go for a bike ride. I was kind of bored with the biking I’ve done near the house and wanted a change of scenery. I drove to Tigard to do the Fanno Creek Trail. Unfortunately, I went to the wrong end of the trail!! What I wanted to do was the trail head in Garden Home where Logan and I went a few months ago.
It didn’t occur to me that I went to the wrong spot. But I arrived in downtown Tigard, found a trailhead and then set off. It was a really nice, warm and sunny day and the perfect weather for a bike ride.
The trail I did had lots of loops and offshoots but most of them just ended in neighborhoods. I did a lot of backtracking, thinking I could find the part of the trail I did before. I didn’t find it, but I did find a long bike trail with tons of art!
Even though it wasn’t the trail I set out to do, it was a nice change of scenery! Lots of wild flowers, a creek, shady areas. Downtown Tigard is super cute now. When I lived there 15+ years ago it was kind of rundown. Now it looks like a cool place to walk around and look at art, go to some shops and cute restaurants.
I drove home after my ride, showered, devoured my lunch like a hungry bear and then got a massage!!! It was so needed. I’ve been having some neck pain lately and I really really needed that taken care of. (The massage therapist put a weighted heating pad on my back before she started and now I want one for home!). The massage was so good I fell asleep.
On Saturday we went for a short hike in Beaverton. I saw a review of this hike on a recent Hike It Baby Facebook post and it looked perfect for Logan! It is called Lowami Hart Woods Nature Area.
They had some cool signs for kids:
It was a hot day but nice on the trail because it was pretty shaded. Lots of big trees, some wetland areas, bridges, offshoot trails. It was partially paved. It was nice!
We did almost 2 miles on our hike. It was almost lunch time so we went to a nearby park, Evelyn Schiffler Park–which was really nice! Lots of places to play, some walking trails, skate park, basketball court, dog park.
Logan played for a bit and we had a picnic lunch, then more playtime before it was time to head home.
Lots of sitting outside. I read my book, Logan played in the sprinkler 🙂 –so did Bella! And then pizza and beer! I picked up the pizza, per Michael’s Father’s Day request, from Apizza Schools. So good!
For Father’s Day we had family over. Michael cooked ribs:
My SIL made a delicious bok choy salad. My BIL brought a bunch of desserts. Everything was so delicious! I love summer.
