It is so hard to believe that my little teeny baby is 5 years old!!!!
In some ways I miss those early days when he was so tiny and cute and chubby and giggly and everything was new and exciting. But as he’s gotten older, it’s gotten super fun seeing him explore and discover things. He’s putting stuff together and it’s like you can actually SEE his brain growing! He’s been learning SO much this past year in preschool and is starting to read some words a bit. He can write and knows the alphabet. He can use scissors now and is very good at art. 🙂
I’m really excited for him to start Kindergarten in the fall. I think it will be absolutely thrilling for him! He’s already talking about it.
Logan loves cars, monster trucks, Batman, the Avengers, super heroes, coloring and hiking. Last year he was getting much better at swim lessons before the shutdown, and I am hoping that opens up soon so he can get back to it. He loved swimming!
He loves his preschool and has “best friends” 😀 . He’s smart (too smart sometimes) and a good negotiator. I joke he will be a lawyer or car salesman someday.
Last year we planned a big Batman birthday party and it got cancelled literally a week after the shutdown. It was such a disappointment. We tried to make it a special day for Logan even though no one could come but it still made me sad. This year we tried to plan a safe way to have a small party.
We set up the party outside in our carport since it was rainy. Masks, socially distanced, short and sweet party. All the grandparents have been vaccinated, so that’s great!
Told people to stop by and say happy birthday, sing, visit, etc. Then I sent people home with goodie bags instead of doing birthday cake. My mom made Rice Krispie treats from scratch (SO GOOD) and I put those in little bags for people.
Of course as soon as the party started there was a deluge of rain. Glad we set up a canopy and had the carport! We all stayed dry.
Logan was SO excited for his party and loved it when everyone sang. Then the frenzy of opening presents…I think he enjoyed the opening more than the gifts. LOL
We were all wiped after the excitement of the day. But Logan sat down to write his thank you cards all by himself.
It was such a good day and it was nice to be able to have some kind of social gathering.

How fast the year went birthday wise. I remember when you were creatively adapting his birthday last year. Very good party this year. Outside solves a lot, everything was very cute. Loved all the pictures.
We almost have my immediate family vaccinated. Three (adult) kids done, one has one more shot to go. My husband gets his first this week, I get my first next week. My mom got hers in January. Most of my neighbors have had theirs or are getting their first next week.
I am considering a hair cut and getting my glasses adjusted in May, otherwise, everything else pretty much the same.

That is so great you guys are all almost all vaccinated! I wish Oregon was moving a little faster!
