I’ve been trying to think of goals for October and I can’t come up with anything particularly exciting! Sad, I know… But I am still trying to actively train for my half marathon as well as lose a few more lbs. I’m basically just trying to plow through the self-inflicted weight plateau!

Also, can I say how jealous I am that you have a Trader Joes? They look amazing. I want one in my neck of the woods–there isn’t even one in Utah!

I would really miss my Trader Joe’s if I ever moved…

Try weight lifting. It busted me out of my plateau!

haha I love that last quote about the dog!

That is funny! I just wrote a blog about goals I set before Labor Day and now I am reevaluating. My goals are coming along so-so. The good thing is I did not set out to accomplish them by mid-October; instead I have about 80 days.

And I am also jealous you have Trader Joe’s. I read all about it in the blog world, but alas, Florida is not blessed with one. I get to stick with Whole Foods. 🙂

You should take a spin class if you haven’t yet!! I am in the process of trying to lose 100 lbs. (I’m 29 lbs. in!) and most of my weight loss came after I started spinning. I burn about 600 calories per 45 minute class. If you can find a Les Mills RPM class, I’d recommend that. It involves stretching and rest periods and uses resistance more than traditional spinning classes.

My goal is to take a spin class. I just need to get on that and reserve a spot. The classes at my gym fill up fast.

Wow, you have to reserve a spot…that’s crazy. Our 5:30 class fills up quickly, but I’ve never heard of having to reserve a bike!

You are so right that goal setting is important! This October my goal is to increase the minutes I exercise each week and not miss a day of school with the kids. So far – so good!

    1. Lisa Eirene

How many minutes are you increasing it by? And do you have a goal time you’re aiming for?

Oooh – not that you asked, but I totally think you should do a Tri next year! You’ve got a great background for it!

One of my October goals is to get my bike tuned up and start riding a little again! It’s been a while. I’m gonna have a sore bum. 🙂

A tri is high on my list! I am scared and intimidated and excited at the same time!

I think those are GREAT goals. I hate when I see girls put out completely unrealistic goals and then feel bad about themselves when they dont reach them!

I used to make unrealistic goals, then I’d beat myself up for not reaching them!
