After what feels like MONTHS of anticipation, the day was upon us. Logan has been super excited about the new house. He asks every day when we get to move to the new house. He even helped me pack over the weekend.
Tuesday we signed the papers. It was starting to feel real finally!!! (It was a little hard to relax, though, because there have been a lot of bumps in the road along the way, so it’s been stressful.) Our closing date changed twice. We had to hire a second moving company because our moving date changed and people were booked up. Like I said, a lot of bumps in the road. But the good thing about moving the middle of the week? Logan was in daycare so we didn’t have to try and find childcare.
This is our new house!
It’s a 1920’s Bungalow. I was telling one of our neighbors at our current place about it and she said that they built those houses here for the workers who worked on the river. I think that’s a cool bit of history.
Anyways, I will share more photos once we are moved in and settled a bit. But here are a few:
Wednesday morning Logan went to daycare and I took the animals over to the house. The cats were in the bathroom safe and sound most of the day and Bella was in her crate while the movers moved stuff over. Some friends brought us lunch from New Seasons and that was a LIFESAVER! They brought two salads and sandwiches for Michael and me. It was the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I was starving and I ate it in about two bites. You’d think I’d been running through the desert for a year I was so hungry and thirsty.
Once the movers were done for the day I let everyone out to explore. Stevie and Bella were having a BLAST running around checking everything out.
Maya not so much. She didn’t like it one bit!
We used Bold Move PDX Moving. They are a fairly new company, local. I love being able to support a small business and I highly recommend them! They did a GREAT job! They were on time, they were respectful of us and our stuff. They didn’t charge for lunches and breaks and stuff.
We all kinda underestimated how much stuff we had and how long it would take and they had a second job Wednesday afternoon so they moved about 85% of the stuff and then came back Thursday to do the rest. Which actually worked out better for us. It would have been a really really long day to do it in one shot. So Thursday they moved the shed/garden/tools/garage stuff and the grill. Miscellaneous stuff like that.
Logan loves the new house! I got him a teddy bear for the new house. 🙂
I walked 28K steps Wednesday and 24K steps on Thursday. I looked it up and that’s the equivalent of 13 miles. I was SO tired and sore and just beat!
We got a lot unpacked and stuff set up but it will take awhile to get everything done. Some of it will be on hold for a bit while we finish up our house and put it on the market next week!
