Last night was my boyfriend Michael’s Surprise Birthday party! I had it at Apizza Scholl’s here in Portland (his favorite pizza). They have gourmet pizza to die for. Here’s an example of a few pizzas we got:
Pig & Pineapple – $23 Our house plain pie plus Applewood smoked Canadian bacon, Onions and Pineapple.
New York White Pie – $22 Mozzarella (whole milk & fresh), pecorino romano, ricotta, lots of fresh garlic, herbs, black pepper, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil.
Plain Tomato Pie – $19 Tomato sauce, mozzarella (whole milk & fresh), pecorino romano and extra virgin olive oil with Hot Capicollo.
Michael was totally surprised! Success! I was glad no one spilled the beans, and 12 of his friends showed up to help celebrate. We had black balloons and his friend Scott kindly made a banner. 🙂
The pizzas were a hit. There were a few pitchers of Portland beer. I had 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio. I had two pieces of pizza–even though I wanted a third, I held back (thank goodness) and then the night went downhill (calorie wise).
The party moved next door to the Bar of the Gods and I had two more glasses of wine. 🙁 I have no idea what I was thinking. We were having a great time and I just wasn’t paying attention. I’ve been kicking myself all morning for essentially drinking a bottle of wine! UGH! I am a two drink kind of a person. Last night was just a stupid mistake. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.
It was a great night. I had a lot of fun and Michael was happy. Successful night!
QUESTION: Have you ever regretted something you ate or drank?
Slowly But Surely
First of all, I LOOOOOVE Apizza Scholls! They definitely have the best pizza in town! I’d hate the see the calorie counts on those slices, though… 😉
I always find myself regretting my food/beverage choices. For instance, I drank 4 GIANT German beers on Saturday while enjoying the great weather on Prost’s patio. Oops! In the end, it won’t kill my diet (nor will your bottle of wine kill yours) – we just need to remember to get back on track the next morning! 🙂

Ooh! Another Apizza Scholls fan! It’s one of my favorites (Mississippi Pizza is my other fave). The slices are humongous. So even though I had 2 slices, it was probably more like 4!
I’ve never heard of Prost’s but I love places that have patios! Perfect for nice weather.

Yumm, this puts the plain cheese slice I had last night to shame! And don’t worry, there’s no such thing as TOO much wine! Well, unless it A: Gets you kicked out of the bar B: Clouds your judgment and causes you to go home with a guy 5 years younger than you. Umm, yeah…)
