What a Sucky Run!
Today’s run wasn’t that great. First, I wasn’t really looking forward to it. I usually enjoy my Monday lunchtime runs because it sets a good tone for the week. I also like feeling like I accomplished something on a Monday. But today I was feeling tired and slow and didn’t really want to do much of anything–including get out of bed this morning!
I forced myself to “suck it up” and once I got my shoes on, I felt much better. I actually got a little excited about my run.
Then I started running. The first mile was brutal. Getting close to my time of the month meant my boobs hurt with every bouncy step. Ugh! My left knee hurt, my right heel hurt, then that went away and my right shin hurt. About a mile in the aches and pains finally worked themselves out but as a result, my run time was slow.
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, however, because I saw that the bridge was up!
Because I had been running kind of slowly, I didn’t have to worry about standing around on the bridge waiting for it to go back down. By the time I ran to the Hawthorne Bridge it was back down.
The weather was strangely pleasant today. Not hot, not really sunny, but the cool temperature felt really nice while I ran.
I ran the long way to the other side of the Hawthorne Bridge and then also ran the extra 1/4 mile toward the Steel Bridge again just like I did on Friday.
Today’s Stats:
Time: 39:21
Calories Burned: 456
Distance: almost 4 miles?
I stretched and made a Lean Cuisine Flat-bread Pizza for lunch.

I hate sucky workouts, but you did it and it is over. You went even though you didn’t feel like it. I think those runs are the ones that make us the strongest. If it were always easy, we wouldn’t gain anything. BTW-I was laughing when I was reading about your diet tonic water mix up. I did that with iced tea one time and after I drank the entire bottle I realized that I used 4ww pts for one drink. I wanted to cry!

It has been so hot here lately that outside exercise is almost impossible. I am glad to hear the weather there is more comfortable. Even though it wasn’t the best run, at least you did it!
