My knee has been acting up again the last few days. I’m not sure what’s up, it could be a new issue, or related to my old IT Band issue. I don’t know. But Saturday morning I skipped the run in case it was something related to increasing my mileage the last few weeks. Instead I hopped on the elliptical. The elliptical is not my first choice. Maybe because I was on that elliptical for years trying to lose my weight.
I got sucked into Halloween on TV and before I knew it, I’d done almost 5 miles on the elliptical. I don’t think the 611 calories are accurate–I calculated it as more like 500-525 calories. I moved on to weight lifting and focused on my triceps and biceps.
Not having my heart rate monitor for my workout was a bit frustrating. I dislike not knowing what my heart rate is and whether or not I’m in “the zone.” I also use that HRM to push me to work a little harder if I’m slacking. When I got home from the gym Michael surprised me with an afternoon date planned. He took me to Laughing Planet for lunch first. I got the Southwestern Chili Bowl:
It had brown rice, cheese, pico di galllo, corn, chilis, beans and guacamole. It was so good. I was glad I got that instead of the burrito. Michael got the bean and spinach burrito, which is another good one there. I had a bite of his burrito. 🙂 My lunch was huge so I only ate half of it. The rest will go great with scrambled eggs.
After lunch we went over to Mount Tabor Park and walked around the park. It was a gorgeous day in Portland. The sun was out, the air was crisp but not cold and the sky was blue. There was no rain but the ground was damp from the previous day’s storm. The leaves were all changing and it was a lovely stroll through the park.
Despite the gray and gloom in Portland, I really love the autumn weather here. The trees are beautiful colors:
I enjoyed my afternoon walking hand-in-hand with my special guy. His back was feeling a little better and I think walking helped. Movement is always better. I loved out little walk (over an hour I think) and then I settled in for the night to watch chick flicks on Netflix and eat leftover Thai food!
Good day!
QUESTION: How was your weekend?
Lori
What a beautiful park!
We were lucky this weekend to only get brushed by the big snowstorm. We were supposed to get 6 inches, but only got 1! Yay!

It’s too early for snow!!

We should have met up for a hot beverage. We had some time between furniture deliveries. We walked Hawthorne a little and enjoyed the Halloween decorations. It was such a nice day! We had take out from Pastinis and watched Netflix. Nice night.
Lisa Eirene
That would have been really nice! 🙁

Love seeing the fall colors Lisa! Lovely time to walk through the forest, and so glad you didn’t get blasted with that snow!
Lisa Eirene
No, we don’t get much snow here in Oregon. Which is sometimes sad because it would be nice to have a snow day!
Jill
Love the fall colors!!!
I am sorry about your knee. I hope you wake up today and it is feeling better! Please let me know how it is.
Danny and I went on a long bike ride yesterday (34 miles) It was great to be outside with the fall colors!!!
Lisa Eirene
I’m jealous of your bike ride. I miss my bike. 🙁 The weather has been too crappy lately. Lots of rain.
