OOOO how exciting! good luck!! I’m sure you’ll both do great! 😀 I always get the pre-race butterflies. If it weren’t for the butterflies, though, I’m not sure if I’d have as much fun finally racing, horseback riding, etc. It’s what makes it really exciting because you know you’re excited 😛

Today I took the dogs for a walk at a local lake unexpectedly bumping into the Iron Girl Triathlon. I kept with my plans for the walk and got to cheer on some of the most hard core athletes ever. It was so inspiring to see all those women tackle the murky swim, the bike, and 5K hilly run. So my point is – regardless of your nerves or if you feel like dying on your bike ride remember you are an inspiration to all of those people on the sidelines who aren’t competing next to you. You can do it! You’ll have a blast! And you’ll do great – hypochondriac/phantom pains and all 😉 You got this! Go get it!

You know Sara, I think that’s a good point–the jitters are all part of the experience. Thank you for the kudos!

Yes, yes, yes, I has the hypochondria! Maybe in a way it’s good for us though, to keep us on our toes, be alert, ready for anything. Maybe?
I hope the race was good! Can’t wait to read about it!

Oooh I can’t wait for your race report!

I TOTALLY get the jitters. The events I’ve been most nervous for so far were my first half-marathon, my marathon and my triathlon yesterday!

I think it’s pretty natural! Michael wasn’t nervous at all leading up to the Century and it made me feel like I was the weird one…then the night before he got the jitters and didn’t sleep well.
