Friday nights are meant for good company.
After work I had a great swim–watch free. I didn’t track any of it, other than my mileage and time. I swam 1.5 miles in 56 minutes. I usually just swim 1.25 miles but after breaking my record last weekend and swimming 2 miles I knew I could do more than the norm. It felt nice to swim! The pool was nice and relaxing and I was looking forward to the weekend starting! It was in the high 70’s in Portland on Friday and absolutely gorgeous out. Michael and I just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine! We sat outside on the back porch in the warm sunshine and just RELAXED. (Relaxation? What’s that??)
Michael got the grill going after a long winter! YAY grilling season! I had a few tortilla chips and some green olives with my bratwurst for dinner. I also enjoyed one beer (just one). It’s hard for me to just sit still and relax. I am a multi-tasker and usually doing three things at once. It’s rare for me to really enjoy downtime so it was a nice change. While we were just sitting and relaxing in the yard, we had a show from the local wildlife. A stray cat visited the yard and Fat Kitty went nuts in the kitchen. He stood on his hind legs like a dog and scratched on the glass door. But then this arrived:
This little guy better not be eating my lettuce!!! Speaking of lettuce, my garden is blooming like crazy! Michael’s hose setup has done wonders. Everything bulked up and I’m starting to find fruit on the limbs–strawberries, tomatoes and peppers!
We’d planned on going out after dinner to get drinks with friends but we decided we both hit the wall like three days ago. This week has been super busy, stressful, exhausting…By 9 p.m. I was tired and ready to get in my jammies instead of putting on heels to go out. So Michael and I split a donut for dessert:
It was small and Michael tried desperately to get me to go to Krispie Kreme for real donuts. I resisted! I said splitting the one donut was dessert enough for us and he finally relented. It was a good donut. 😉
QUESTION: What are Friday nights meant for for you?
Lynne
Sounds like a great night! I usually prefer to stay home on Friday nights. I have my WW meeting every Friday at 5:30, then I always go to Subway and get a sandwich and chips for dinner. I awlays have some weekly points left over on Friday, so I use them up with my Subway. 🙂 Then I just catch up on TV from the week, and go to bed early so I can get up for Yoga on Saturday mornings. I love my Friday routine!

That sounds like a great Friday night too. What do you get at Subway? I love subway…

That bunny looks so excited to see the growth in your garden too! He doesn’t even seem to mind the humans being around snapping pictures while he checks out the buffet 🙂
We usually eat Chinese carry out and have pared our meal down to one combo meal that my husband and I split. Although I didn’t want it to be enough food, it is plenty. I let him have the egg roll.

The bunny let me get SUPER close to him! I was surprised.
That’s great that you and your hubby are splitting the food. That’s an excellent idea.

Good for you, resisting the Krispy Kreme!
I’m kind of a homebody and I love to spend Friday nights at home in front of the boob tube with a glass of wine. Once in a while it’s nice to go out though!

It is nice to relax on Friday nights.

I agree, nothing like a good swim on a Friday night! I did that a lot during the winter months. Now they’re less workout, and more just chilling. Change is good!

I love my Friday night swims!
