Today is the day of Carbo-loading. It’s recommended the day before the race to amp up the carbohydrates at ever single meal during the day and then dinner should be the carb-loading meal.
Breakfast this morning was our standard scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and this time we had toasted sandwich thins.
Today was going great–the sun was out, I was in a great mood. And then my iphone stopped working. π I was NOT a happy camper this morning. Mostly because the way Apple works is that you have to make a RESERVATION to see anyone. Ridiculous. And of course they Β are booked up today! Not what I need the day before the race. π
I went to Starbucks and got a tall, iced coffee –plain–and then added my own French Vanilla creamer (35 calories) to it. It was delicious! Since my phone decided to break–no pictures.
My phone did start to work! YA!
Work is completely chaotic today (and very stressful). I sort of remember eating my morning snack….Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt:
I decided not to count calories today. I knew I would be eating A LOT of calories and I didn’t want to deal with the stress or anxiety.
The BF was amazing and washed my bike yesterday before I got home from work! It was sweet and super helpful. Tonight will hopefully include some relaxing before tomorrow!
For lunch I went out to sushi with a coworker. It was fantastic! And sushi is perfect food for tomorrow–carbs, protein, sodium!Β I will leave you with lovely photos of raw fish. π
QUESTION: How do you carb-load before an event?
Kellie
lots of delicious bread and butter.
Lori (Finding Radiance)
I don’t carb load like crazy, but I will eat more potatoes the night before and have a good evening snack. Plus a good carby oatmeal brekkie!
Enjoy the race!

I jumped on Wikipedia and read the article, but it was a lot like walking through pudding: slow going and afterward I felt kinda dirty.
