After being sick for a week I finally went back to the gym after 7 days. I was expecting it to be difficult but I didn’t have any problems. My cough was gone and I didn’t struggle with running my 3 miles. I guess I didn’t have a virus because the antibiotics have worked wonders.
No wheezing, no shortness of breath, my energy level was good. It was almost like I’d never been sick. I also noticed that the cardio room was half full. Have the Resolutioners dropped out?
I knew that weight lifting WOULD be a struggle with 7 days of doing none. I imagine today I will get progressively sore. I thoroughly enjoyed my workout and the gym was pleasant (not overcrowded!).
I’ve also noticed that my stomach is a bit flatter these days. You cannot understand just how elated I am about that! It feels like my hard work is finally showing. I just wish I knew what it was that did it! The weight lifting? The extra core work? Not running much?

It was good to be back at the gym and able to do things again. My appetite also returned! When I got home Michael had dinner ready (bless him) and yes it was those sausage links.
Saturday afternoon Michael started making the light box for me. When Angela posted a How-To guide for a light box I sent it to Michael because it was something we’d been planning on doing for a few months. There really was NO excuse for our procrastination too; Michael works at a photography studio! But I dragged my feet and didn’t feel like it was a priority. Thankfully Michael just decided it was time to build it. He knows how to do all of this stuff. He made the skeleton of the light box on Saturday and last night he completed it.
How cool is my man? It needs some tweeks. Unfortunately we need to fix the white so that the photos aren’t yellow-tinted like this:
Bummer! But we’ll get it fixed and I think it will make my photos look great. Dinner was good: sausage link and then broccoli for the side. The Meal Planning is going seamlessly.
LOOK AT HIM! Little stinker! I walked into the kitchen and found both Maya and Fat Kitty perched in the light box next to each other like they were sitting on a throne. As soon as I turned the kitchen lights on Maya jumped out.
Check back this afternoon for the response from Evergood Fine Foods. 😀
QUESTION: Are you still going strong with your New Year’s Resolutions?
Michael
We need to tweak the white balance setting in the camera. I’ll figure it out tonight.

I need to get on that and make a light box!
I’m doing really well with my New Years Resolutions. I’ve been sticking to my training plan for my half marathon, have been losing weight consistently, and am less than 8 pounds from my goal weight!
Lisa Eirene
NICE!! Great job on the 8 pounds! I am 4 from goal weight and the end is in sight!
Lori
Lifting is everything.
When I made my light box, Pixie thought it was her new palace 😀

My cats love boxes, so I’m not surprised in the least.
Did you have yellowish photos in your light box? Any tips?

ZOMG IT’S A BOX! Hahaha. My cats LOVE boxes, too. That last photo made me literally LOL! Fat kitty is ready for his closeup!

I was so sad I wasn’t able to get the super cute photo of them both crouched in the box! It was adorable!

My goals were:
1. Floss daily – After seeing what lurks between my teeth, I don’t think I could give this one up.
2. Less whipped cream! – I found I was eating whipped cream on anything that wasn’t hardcore savory. I cut down to once a day (usually on yogurt and bananas) and last week I didn’t even buy any because I am cheap.
3. Be more patient and less of a monster. – This one is a success and failure on a case-by-case basis, but I am trying to be more aware!
Lisa Eirene
“Be more patient and less of a monster.” Hmmm that should have been on my list!
Good job at still trying to do your Resolutions!
