I got my compression tights on and tried my IT Band wrap for the first time last night. I began my Nike Training workout to warm up before hopping on the bike.
Toe Touches are harder than they look! I did a modified “Ab Burner” workout for 22 minutes. I burned 136 calories during my warm-up/ab workout.
Since I modified the workout, I skipped the side-planks and did lots of extra Russian Twists.
I set up the bike on the trainer and turned on my TV shows. During my whole workout I got through one episode of NCIS and started the premiere of SVU.
I think now that the ITB Wrap caused more problems then helped me last night. During my bike ride my knee started to hurt. 🙁
I was able to do the bike trainer workout for about 40 minutes before my knee was bugging me so much I called it quits. I have no way of tracking the mileage I do on the bike trainer currently but if I cycle about 10 miles an hour, my 40 minute workouts are probably about 7 or 8 miles total. In three weeks I’ve done about 24 miles so far.

Calories Burned: 539
After my workout I fixed myself dinner. Michael had leftover Curried Cauliflower Soup (it’s much better as a leftover) and I made an amazing salmon for dinner!
It was similar to the lemon pepper and butter salmon I do but MUCH better. I sprinkled a little lemon pepper seasoning on the salmon.
I skipped the butter (honestly I just forgot to add it) and put the slices of lemons on top of the salmon. Then I wrapped it loosely in foil and baked it at 350 for about 18 minutes.
While it was baking I made a salad.
Dinner was AMAZING. The salmon was the most perfect salmon I’ve ever eaten. I am so impressed at how much of a difference using fresh lemon makes. Plus it did not need the butter at all!
I will most definitely be doing salmon this way in the future. I had a glass of chardonnay with my salmon and we watched Top Chef.
Thank you all for the great comments and insight on yesterday’s post! It was a very thought-provoking discussion and I liked reading the differing opinions. A common thought was maybe just eating HALF of the calories I burn working out. I think that’s a good place to start. So last night I did not eat all the calories I burned. Even having a glass of wine and dessert I had 350 calories left for the day. I think it’s a good start.
The trick with eating ice cream is to use a really small bowl so you don’t overeat. It also makes it look like you’re getting more than you really are. 🙂
I had two scoops of ice cream and debated with myself about the 7 pounds. Do I really want to sacrifice things like ice cream and wine from my life for 7 pounds? I workout enough to maintain my weight but restricting my diet drastically isn’t really something I want to do right now. The fact that I even have to DEBATE is my answer. Why? Because when I was 250 and made the choice to lose 100 pounds there was no debate. I was determined to lose the weight and there was no wavering.
My knee bugged me A LOT last night. 🙁 I iced and I tried some Icy Hot on my leg as a desperate measure. Fat Kitty seemed to LOVE the Icy Hot.
He could not get enough sniffing my leg. Then he hopped off the bed and starting rolling around like he was high. I think Icy Hot has the same effect on him as catnip?? Weird!
QUESTION: How are your New Year’s Resolutions coming along?
Jenn at A Girl Who Loves Cupcakes
I can definitely understand the frustration with an injury when you want to work out. I think you’re doing a great job listening to your body. Just make sure you give it enough rest before you try again. It’s too funny about your kitty! My kitties run and hide from smelly things! LOL!
I didn’t make an resolutions besides to keep on doing what’s i’m doing, and so far that’s still working out for me. 🙂
Good Luck!

It was is very frustrating. I was feeling pretty low about my knee last night. (Hence the ice cream lol).
Brie @ Brie Fit
Haha, I do the ice cream in a ramekin trick, too. I love it!
Also, one of our cats is seriously attracted to anything that smells like chemicals–soap, carpet cleaner, lotion, plastic shopping bags. I don’t know what it is.
Also also, I’m not going to have time for a full workout tomorrow because I’m traveling, but I think I will be able to squeeze in the Ab Burner. Love it!
Lisa Eirene
My abs are SORE today!! The Ab Burner works well. I’m happy with the App!
My cats are so weird. ‘Nuff said. 😉

hahaha how funny about fat kitty!! And I agree – fresh citrus makes such a different with fish! If you’re looking to change it up, you can add fresh orange and/or lime slices in addition to or instead of the lemon. Its so good you barely need any seasoning besides salt and pepper!
Lisa Eirene
Oh that’s a great idea! I will definitely try the oranges next time!
What about grapefruit? Too weird?
Tamm
I know my sister cooks her salmon this way too (with real lemon). I haven’t tried it but will now, that looks good! That’s some good calorie burning your doing. I like the idea of maybe only eating half of those calories. It should get you to 140 and you can see how that feels. Sorry about the knee, hope it heals soon. You’re inspiring, no doubt about it.
Lisa Eirene
Thank you for reading Tamm. I’m glad I can inspire people. 🙂
Steena
Aw shucks, sorry to hear about your knee giving you trouble again. Mine is too again! What the hey! When can we just get on with our ACTIVE LIVES?!!
Um, wow, the icecream looks sooo soo soo good, I WANT!! 🙂
