I don’t celebrate Easter so it’s really just another Sunday to me. The good part of today being a holiday, I have high hopes that the pool will be empty this morning! I slept in a little bit this morning (amidst really crazy dreams involving castles, monkeys, showers, and losing my job–wtf?) and then got up to make breakfast. My boyfriend Michael CANNOT handle the smell, look, or texture of oatmeal (which is a shame cause it’s so good!) so it’s Breakfast for One today.
I usually make the generic Fred Meyer brand of 2 minute oatmeal. This one is quite different. First, the oats look much bigger. Second, the instructions say to cook for 6-10 minutes! That might be hard to do in the mornings before work, but we’ll see.
After the water boiled off (about 7 minutes in) I poured the oatmeal into the bowl.
Look how big the oats are! And not quite as runny and creamy as the 2 minute oatmeal. I added a little brown sugar and 1/4 of a cup of skim milk.
I give it two thumbs up! It’s very tasty and I’m only half way through the bowl and feel full. The oats are chewy and big. I think I’ve been converted to this style of oatmeal!
Now, time to swim. Later, we are going to Michael’s mom’s house for lunch. I hear rumors of a frittata and potatoes. Mmmmm….

I feel bad for people who don’t get oatmeal LOL!

First off- fabulous blog. Congrats on the weight loss! Oats are delicious. Has the bf tried them recently? Some people hate oats as kids but love them as adults!! Happy Monday

Thank you! I tried to talk the bf into giving the Scottish Oats a try. It was chewy instead of mushy. But he’s having none of it!
